Each Slim Metrix capsule lists ten active ingredients. Two are minerals with printed amounts: zinc and chromium. The other eight share one 276 mg proprietary blend.
We sort the ten into four groups by the role they are usually studied for. Two are minerals. Three are plant compounds studied for blood sugar. Three are antioxidants. Two bring heat or a lift in energy.
Every line here comes from the Slim Metrix Supplement Facts panel. When the sales brief and the label disagree, we follow the label.
Minerals in Slim Metrix: zinc and chromium
The only two ingredients with their own printed amounts.

Zinc (as zinc gluconate), 5.5 mg
Zinc is an essential mineral that supports hundreds of enzymes, immune function and normal growth. The Daily Value is 11 mg, so one capsule gives half. The adult upper limit is 40 mg a day (NIH ODS, Zinc).
Zinc gluconate is a common, well-absorbed salt form. It is also used in many cold lozenges.
Chromium (as chromium picolinate), 50 mcg
Chromium is a trace mineral that helps insulin move glucose into cells. The label prints 0.05 mg, which equals 50 mcg. Chromium picolinate is the form used in most supplement trials (NIH ODS, Chromium).
The label shows 41.67% DV for this amount. Against today's 35 mcg Daily Value, 50 mcg is about 143% (FDA, Daily Values). Our chromium Daily Value explainer walks through the math.
Blood-sugar botanicals in Slim Metrix: berberine, banaba and ginseng
Three plant ingredients most often studied for glucose control.

Berberine HCl (97%, from Berberis aristata root)
Berberine is a bitter plant alkaloid. In diabetes trials it lowered glucose and blood fats when paired with lifestyle change, at 0.5 to 1.5 g a day (Dong et al., 2012). The label says the extract is 97% berberine.
Banaba leaf extract (2% corosolic acid)
Banaba is a tropical tree whose leaves hold corosolic acid. Short human studies found it lowered blood sugar (Stohs et al., 2012). One small two-week study used just 32 to 48 mg a day of an extract with 1% corosolic acid (Judy et al., 2003).
Korean ginseng aerial extract (8% ginsenosides)
Panax ginseng is a classic tonic herb. A review of 16 trials, with a median length of 8 weeks, found a modest drop in fasting glucose but no change in HbA1c (Shishtar et al., 2014). This label uses the above-ground parts, while most studies used the root.
Antioxidants in Slim Metrix: alpha lipoic acid, resveratrol and milk thistle
Three ingredients known mainly for antioxidant activity.
Alpha lipoic acid
Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is a compound your cells make in small amounts to help turn food into energy. It also acts as an antioxidant.
A review of 10 trials found about 1.3 kg more weight loss than placebo, a small short-term effect (Kucukgoncu et al., 2017). Those studies usually used hundreds of milligrams a day.
Resveratrol (Polygonum cuspidatum root extract 200:1)
Resveratrol is a polyphenol found in grape skins and in Japanese knotweed root, the source named here. The 200:1 ratio means 200 parts of root went into 1 part of extract.
A review of 28 trials found body weight fell about 0.5 kg, with no significant change in fat mass (Mousavi et al., 2019). Very little resveratrol reaches the blood unchanged after a dose (Walle et al., 2004).
Milk thistle seed extract (80% silymarin)
Milk thistle is a spiny plant whose seeds hold silymarin, a group of antioxidant compounds. It is best known as a traditional liver herb.
The NIH says there is not enough high-quality evidence to draw conclusions about its uses (NCCIH, Milk thistle). It can cause bloating or gas in some people.
- ALA: made by the body too
- Resveratrol: from knotweed root
- Milk thistle: 80% silymarin
Heat and energy ingredients in Slim Metrix: green tea and cayenne
The two ingredients behind the 'thermogenic' label.

Green tea leaf extract (50% EGCG)
Green tea extract concentrates catechins, the tea's main polyphenols. EGCG is the best studied of them. Tea leaves also hold natural caffeine, but the label gives no caffeine figure.
A Cochrane review found green tea's effect on weight was small and not statistically significant (Jurgens et al., 2012 (Cochrane)). Our green tea extract safety guide covers the rare liver reports.
Cayenne fruit (40,000 H.U.)
Cayenne is a hot chili pepper. Its heat comes from capsaicin, and 40,000 H.U. (heat units) tells you how strong the pepper is. Capsaicin raises energy use slightly, but the effect is small (Ludy et al., 2012).
These two are the reason the sales page uses the word thermogenic. See how Slim Metrix works for what that word can and cannot mean.
How much of each Slim Metrix ingredient is in the 276 mg blend?
The ingredient choices follow real research topics. The amounts are mostly hidden.
The label does not say. Eight ingredients share 276 mg, so the average is about 35 mg each. Some may be larger and some smaller, but no single amount is published.
That matters because research doses are often far higher. Our proprietary blend guide explains why brands use blends and what buyers lose.
Slim Metrix amounts per capsule compared with daily amounts in human research
| Ingredient | Per capsule | Daily amount in research |
|---|---|---|
| Zinc | 5.5 mg | DV 11 mg; upper limit 40 mg (NIH ODS, Zinc) |

| Alpha lipoic acid | Not published | Usually hundreds of mg (Kucukgoncu et al., 2017) |
| Resveratrol | Not published | Larger effects under 500 mg for 3+ months (Mousavi et al., 2019) |
| Green tea extract | Not published | 12–13 weeks of green tea preparations (Jurgens et al., 2012 (Cochrane)) |
| Banaba | Not published | 32–48 mg of a 1% corosolic acid extract (Judy et al., 2003) |
| Korean ginseng | Not published | 16 trials, median 8 weeks (Shishtar et al., 2014) |
| Cayenne | Not published | Various; stronger effects at high doses (Ludy et al., 2012) |

Why does the Slim Metrix brief list 6 ingredients when the label lists 10?
Marketing names six. The panel names ten.
The brief: 6
Chromium, zinc, green tea extract, berberine, resveratrol and milk thistle. The brand graphics show the same six.
The label: 10
The Supplement Facts panel adds alpha lipoic acid, cayenne, Korean ginseng and banaba inside the blend.
Our rule
We follow the label. It is the legal record of what the capsule contains, and it is what your doctor should see.
Sales pages often highlight the best-known names. The label must list everything. The four extra ingredients matter for safety, since ginseng, banaba and alpha lipoic acid can also affect blood sugar.
What are the other ingredients in Slim Metrix capsules?
A plant-based shell and three common manufacturing aids.
The four other ingredients on the Slim Metrix label, in label order
| Other ingredient | What it is | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Hypromellose (vegetable capsule) | A cellulose made from plant fiber | Forms the capsule shell instead of gelatin. |
| Microcrystalline cellulose | Refined plant cellulose powder | A filler that helps each capsule hold the same weight. |
| Magnesium stearate | A magnesium salt of stearic acid, a fat | A flow agent that keeps powder from sticking to machines. |
| Silicon dioxide | A form of silica, found in sand and many foods | Stops the powder from clumping in humid air. |
All four are common in capsule supplements. They add no calories worth counting and are not part of the formula's purpose.
Two safety notes belong with this list. Berberine and the other blood-sugar ingredients can add to diabetes medicine, and berberine interacts with many drugs. Read who Slim Metrix is for and the side effects page before your first capsule.
Slim Metrix ingredients questions
How many ingredients are in Slim Metrix?
The label lists ten active ingredients. Zinc and chromium have their own amounts. The other eight share one 276 mg proprietary blend. Four more items build the capsule itself.
Why does the sales page name only six ingredients?
The sales brief and the brand graphic show chromium, zinc, green tea, berberine, resveratrol and milk thistle. The Supplement Facts panel also lists alpha lipoic acid, cayenne, Korean ginseng and banaba. This site follows the label, because the label is what is in the bottle.
How much berberine is in each capsule?
The amount is not published. Berberine sits inside the 276 mg blend with seven other ingredients. Even if the whole blend were berberine, it would be about half of the 500 mg low end used in trials.
Does Slim Metrix contain caffeine?
Caffeine is not listed on the panel. Green tea leaf extract can carry some natural caffeine, but the label gives no figure. If caffeine bothers you, take the capsule in the morning and ask the order desk what the supplier can share.
Is the Slim Metrix capsule vegetarian?
The shell is hypromellose, a plant cellulose, not gelatin. The brand shows a vegetarian seal. Magnesium stearate can come from plant or animal fat and the label does not say which, so strict vegetarians can ask the order desk.
What does 40,000 H.U. mean on the cayenne line?
H.U. stands for heat units, a measure of how hot a pepper is. It describes the strength of the cayenne, not how much cayenne is in the capsule. That amount is not published.
Is Korean ginseng aerial extract the same as ginseng root?
No. Aerial means the parts above the ground, such as leaves and stems. Most ginseng studies used the root. The label says the extract is standardized to 8% ginsenosides, the plant's main active compounds.
